Public Relations Intern

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic in summer 2020 many internship leads were quickly withdrawn due to limited capacity for new entrants and safety concerns. Luckily for me I have an aunt, Meghan Dotter, who afforded me the opportunity to work with her and her company, Portico. I learned so much this summer about PR and entrepreneurial best practices. I also was fortunate to help transition the business online and saw how the pandemic created new opportunities for Portico to meet the needs of online presenting. Find it here. I gained not only new skills but a newfound confidence by working with my aunt as I was able to take on more responsibility.

Responsibilities included:

• Coordinated and executed integration of new software platforms to automate customer relationship flows.

• Critically evaluated existing business software and identified 6+ inefficiencies that required streamlining.

• Created media lists featuring popular topics in the PR industry, leading to a 10% increase in engagement.
