In between my undergraduate and graduate degrees I wanted to continue my professional development in the marketing industry and thus I spent the summer working with the VBS marketing team in the Richmond office. I collaborated with executives and the sales team in organizing existing business practices. It was a great opportunity to learn about a new industry and continue to sharpen my marketing skills.
Responsibilities Included:
Input Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes into the companywide system to create an organized filing structure, leading to 20% fewer errors in customer account set up.
Conducted systematic research of SIC codes across multiple sectors, reducing documents retrieval time by 40%.
Created detailed Excel spreadsheet with analysis on variations of SIC code for the internal sales team.
